Profiles in History ‘Icons of Hollywood Auction′ TV & Movie Prop Catalog Available Online for Sale Event December 15th and 16th

The Profiles in History ‘Icons of Hollywood Auction’ catalog does away with the traditional “Hollywood Auction” numbering format (which ended with 44?), and is now available as a free PDF download on their official site, with hardcopies available for purchase as well. Christie’s Entertainment Memorabilia Auction November 23rd In London, Catalog Available Online

Christie’s next “Pop Culture: Film and Entertainment” auction (Sale 6214) will be held November 23rd at South Kensington, London. The catalog for this event can now be viewed online. One of this year’s most talked about lots will likely be the Stormtrooper costume (sans helmet), described as “a collection of Stormtrooper costume components, with elements made for both of the first two films of the original [Star Wars] trilogy.”  [Read more…]

Review: “Hollywood Treasure” TV Series on SyFy (Episodes 103 & 104)

This past week, SyFy aired the third and fourth episodes of the new cable television series “Hollywood Treasure”, featuring Joe Maddalena, Brian Chanes, and the staff of Profiles in History.  The reality-based series follows Joe and his efforts to secure important Hollywood memorabilia for his live auction sale events.  This continues a series of regular reviews of each episode, following last week’s review of episodes #101 and #102. Impressions: Profiles in History “Hollywood Auction 40” Event

Profiles in History’s “Hollywood Auction 40” was held Thursday, Friday and today on-site at the Profiles in History offices in Calabasas Hills, with remote bidding available over the Internet via LiveAuctioneers, as well as direct via mail, fax, and telephone bidding.  The first two days alone offered the type of material that is traditional for their regular auction events, including original television and movie props, costumes, and other memorabilia.  Today’s Day 3 included the special sale of material limited to the Star Trek franchise.
