New “Global Antiques” Hollywood Memorabilia Dealer on eBay (Michael Jackson, Star Wars, Wizard of Oz)

eBay dealer “moniemon92” – with an account created in 2007 but with no recorded transactions until a few weeks ago – has listed a number of items for sale with “Global Antiques” certificates of authenticity.  These auction offerings are dominated by listings of items owned/autographed by the recently deceased Michael Jackson.  eBay dealers selling items authenticated and certified genuine by “Global Antiques” were summarily suspended by eBay in June 2008 following a series of Original Prop Blog articles.

At the time, this issue was featured in a front page Los Angeles Times story, Antique Week, and other media outlets.

As reported in April of this year, a customer of “Global Antiques” reseller “Auction Depot LA” filed suit against Greg Jones of “Global Antiques” and Adam Ward of “Auction Depot LA”; the lawsuit was settled out of court as detailed in the article (see “Global Antiques” & “Auction Depot LA” Update: Victim Secures $18,000 Settlement & Deferred Judgment Following Lawsuit).

The new eBay listings included a few initial offerings with high starting bids – a “Sherlock Homes” hat autographed by Michael Jackson with a $1,000 opening bid (see archived listing) later relisted and sold for $15 with one bid (see archived listing) and a Michael Jackson autographed James Brown doll originally listed with a $3,500 opening bid (see archived listing) also relisted later and sold for $102.50 with three bids (see archived listing).
