The Monsterpalooza convention is the perfect venue for our very first charity auction. Proceeds raised during the event will benefit the Sophia Bijou Fund as well as Scares That Care. The Monsterpalooza Charity Auction will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 6pm PDT. The auction will take place at the Mariott Hotel &amp; Convention Center at 2500 Hollywood Way in Burbank, CA. Public preview will be available from March 25- April 11 by appointment only. All items will be on display at Monsterpalooza beginning April 12.<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with the theme of Monsterpalooza, we are proud to offer some outstanding artifacts from science fiction, fantasy, and horror films, as well as some pop culture items. Some examples include a piece of wallpaper from the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland, a vintage To Catch a Thief one-sheet poster, a 1\/45th scale replica of Captain Nemo\u2019s Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, a bound cast-signed script of The Mist from the personal collection of director Frank Darabont, limited edition gicl\u00e9e prints from Gris Grimly, the Alec Baldwin hero ring from The Shadow, and a stunning \u201cHeart Box\u201d sculpture inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs created by HMS Productions.<\/p>\n<p>The Sophia Bijou Fund has been setup to assist the Valdez family with treatments, medical bills and living expenses. Sophia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of three. Sophia\u2019s father, Mathias, keeps an ongoing blog about Sophia and her diagnosis.
