Dan Lanigan’s “Prop Culture” by ABC Studios & Cinema Relics Productions – Season One Streaming on Disney+ Starting May 1st

The entire first season of Prop Culture is dropping on the Disney+ streaming service starting May 1, 2020, featuring all eight episodes.  The series by ABC Studios and Cinema Relics Productions and distributed by Disney+ is a documentary/docuseries featuring host and Executive Producer Dan Lanigan as he revisits popular Disney films from the perspective of learning more about the people who brought the movies to life as well as taking a closer look at the props, costumes, and other production assets, techniques and effects employed in each. Profiles in History ‘Icons of Hollywood Auction′ TV & Movie Prop Catalog Available Online for Sale Event December 15th and 16th

The Profiles in History ‘Icons of Hollywood Auction’ catalog does away with the traditional “Hollywood Auction” numbering format (which ended with 44?), and is now available as a free PDF download on their official site, with hardcopies available for purchase as well. Bonhams “Pioneers of Popular Culture” Auction Event Offers Two Important Costumes from ‘Batman’ & ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’

Bonhams will be holding their “Pioneers of Popular Culture” event (Sale 18524) on August 15th at the inaugural Goodwood Vintage Festival in the UK.   Though original props and costumes are nearly non-existent among the 273 lots in the auction, the two key pieces present are important and impressive: a three-piece suit worn by Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton’s Batman (Lot 192) and an ape costume from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (Lot 193).
