Premiere Props ‘Hollywood VIP Auction III’ Auction Catalog Online, Television & Movie Prop and Costume Sale Event August 23

Premiere Props have listed their next auction with online bidding partners iCollector, Invaluable (formerly ArtFact), and proxibid (replacing LiveAuctioneers) as part of their “Hollywood VIP Auction III”. The two-day auction is scheduled for August 23rd. As with past auctions, the sale includes a mix of original props, costumes, and other film and television artifacts, as well as general Hollywood Memorabilia, all in no order or rhyme or reason apparent as to sequence or grouping. “Movie Props DNA (MPDNA)”, which seems to come and go with these sale events, is no where to be found in the lot descriptions this time around save for two lots (Lot #183 and Lot #224) out of more than 500. San Diego Comic-Con 2014: Prop Store Exhibitor Booth (#SDCC)

This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2014. This is most definitely the most important Comic-Con appearance for Prop Store since their first exhibit back in 2008. They have managed to get a sizable upgrade in space from The Powers That Be at Comic-Con for 2014, and they have put all of that additional square footage to brilliant use, with a more open design and really elegant work in displaying their rare props and costumes with beautiful lighting. With the added visibility, Prop Store is using the opportunity to get the word out about their first live auction even later this year, to be held in London in October.

San Diego Comic-Con 2014: Profiles in History Exhibitor Booth (#SDCC)

This is part of my ongoing coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2014. As per tradition, Hollywood memorabilia auction house Profiles in History are exhibiting at their usual space, Booth #1605. I’ve been attending Comic-Con since 1987, and have been covering it on the Original Prop Blog since 2008, and if I’m honest, I would say this is their most disappointing showing to date. The entire back wall are costumes for the Expendables franchise (which, if you haven’t seen the film(s), isn’t too exciting). With what little space is left, there is not too much to impress… and I think that this is maybe the second or third year running where the big promo is a signing from Sean Astin. [Read more…]

Prop Store Officially Announces Their First “Live Auction of Film & Television Artefacts”; To Take Place at Vue Westfield in London on October 16th

After 16 years in the business of selling original TV and movie props, costumes, and other Hollywood memorabilia, Prop Store will be holding it’s first live auction on October 16th, at Vue Westfield in London following a two week exhibition at Vue’s flagship cinema in Westfield, London. With 375 items set to hit the auction block, highlights include material from some of the top sci-fi and action film franchises including James Bond, Star Wars, Back to the Future, Terminator, Batman, and more. Premiere Props have listed their next auction with online bidding partners iCollector, LiveAuctioneers, and Invaluable (formerly ArtFact) as part of their “Hollywood Extravaganza XIV”. The two-day auction is scheduled for June 21-22. As per usual, with less than a month before the sale, presumably a fraction of the full list of items have been put online as part of these auction catalogs. As with past auctions, the sale includes a mix of original props, costumes, and other film and television artifacts, as well as general Hollywood Memorabilia. “Movie Props DNA (MPDNA)”, which appeared absent in recent sales, is back and noted within some of the lot descriptions. Profiles in History ‘Debbie Reynolds – The Auction Finale′ Catalog Available Online for Sale Event May 17-18

Profiles in History will be holding the third and last auction of Debbie Reynolds consigned material as part of their “Debbie Reynolds – The Auction Finale” sale running May 17th and 18th. Today they made the catalog available to order (hardcopy) as well as online in PDF and flipbook format via their official site. This sale is scheduled to be held at the Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio in North Hollywood. This auction features 897 lots including promotional material, classic Hollywood wardrobe, props, set pieces, production material, vintage motion picture cameras, and other important film artifacts.

Premiere Props ‘Hollywood Extravaganza XIII’ Auction Catalog Online, Television & Movie Prop and Costume Sale Event March 22-23

Premiere Props have listed their next auction with online bidding partners iCollector, LiveAuctioneers, and Invaluable (formerly ArtFact) as part of their “Hollywood Extravaganza XIII”. The two-day auction is scheduled for this weekend, March 22-23. The sale advertises over 1,000 lots (which includes a lot of autographed, posters, baseballs, and other memorabilia). As with past auctions, the sale includes a mix of original props, costumes, and other film and television artifacts, as well as general Hollywood Memorabilia. There are many vintage off the shelf antiques attributed to film and television productions with no explanation as to how and why such claims are made (like an ice cream scooper attributed to Back to the Future, a starfish from Jaws 2, or a Happy Days wooden box).
