“Screen Used” Hannibal Lecter Mask – Update

“Screen Used” Hannibal Lecter Mask - Update | hannibal cropped cap x380

Over a year ago, I published an article about a Hannibal Lecter mask described by the seller as “a SCREEN USED PROP – actually Worn / Used in the Film“.  This was listed on eBay for $14,000.00 and differed in a variety of ways from the mask seen on screen in the movie, Hannibal.  This mask offered for sale had very specific and noticeable damage to it and included a Star Wares COA.  It appears that this mask has resurfaced on eBay, now offered by Star Wares (starwarescollectibles) starting at $4,999.99.  If the same piece, it appears that the mask has suffered considerable damage since the May 2007 auction. Bonhams “Superman IV Flying Suit” (June 2008 Auction)

The upcoming Bonhams June 18, 2008 “Entertainment Memorabilia” auction held at Knightsbridge (see article) features a Superman costume attributed to use by Christopher Reeve in the fourth installment of the film series, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.

The Bonhams site features Flash technology so that interested parties can zoom in on the supplied photo for more detail; while time consuming, it is possible to then piece together a larger, higher resolution photo using Photoshop, which I have done to take a closer look at this costume.

It is part of Sale 15801, Lot 108: LINK [Read more…]

Prop Store Mention on Attack of the Show: I Am Legend M4 Rifle

Olivia Munn of G4’s Attack of the Show made mention of an original prop for sale at Prop Store of London on their “Gadgets” segment last night. This featured the non-firing M4 rifle from I Am Legend, starring Will Smith. Prop Store has both a non-firing and live fire version of this prop (for $8,999.00 and $12,499.00 respectively) used prominently in the film on their site: LINK [Read more…]

“Movies Galore” TOS Star Trek Hand Phaser – Update

This is a follow-up to an article posted a few days ago, (see “Movies Galore” TOS Star Trek Hand Phaser – February, March, April eBay Listings), discussing a Star Trek: The Original Series “hand phaser”, marketed as original and from the 1966-69 classic television series with a Certificate of Authenticity from “Movies Galore”, which was offered for sale on eBay and sold, offered for sale on eBay again and sold, and was then offered for sale on eBay for a third time over the span of just three months.

Per an article published today by Alec Peters on his Star Trek Prop, Costume, and Auction Blog (see Phaser Update – Resolution all around!), the current eBay seller, “notdads2004”, ended his auction early and returned the prop for a refund from the previous seller, “truck8”. Buyer “truck8” then returned the prop for a refund from the original eBay seller, “grandenagus”. [Read more…]

The Side Arms of James Bond, 007: From The Walther PPK to the P99

The Side Arms of James Bond, 007: From The Walther PPK to the P99 | bond gallery x425

I recently acquired a very rare James Bond Walther PPK for my own collection, so I have done some research as to what handguns have been offered to the marketplace attributed to use in the films as the side arm of James Bond. I thought it might be of interest to readers to know “what is out there”. The focus of this article is primarily hero and “real” firearms (no stunts). [Read more…]
