Profiles in History Offers Sneak Peak Preview of Movie Props Consigned to May 2010 Auction

In addition to next month’s special event, the Michael H Epstein & Scott E Schwimer Glamour Photography Auction, and the LOST auction this summer, Profiles in History will have two of their traditional entertainment memorabilia auctions, one scheduled for May 2010 and one towards the end of the year.  The auction house has today released information about a few of the highlights that will be a part of the May auction event. Prop Store Restoration of Original Nostromo Prop Model from Ridely Scott’s “Alien” (Video Part 3)

The 7 foot model of the Nostromo ship featured in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic, Alien, has been the focus of a restoration project by The Prop Store of London. Suffering decades of damage from poor conditions of improper outdoor storage, the piece has required extensive cosmetic restoration as part of its ongoing preservation.  [Read more…]

Replica Prop Forum (The RPF) Adds “Screen Used” Movie Prop Forum Discussion Area

The Replica Prop Forum, more commonly referred to simply as “The RPF”, has added a new “Screen Used Props” sub forum to their website.  While there has always been a small percentage of talk dedicated to original props and costumes, as well as many topics that would be of interest to both replica and original prop collectors, this is the first time that a special area has been dedicated exclusively to talk about original props on the board.  [Read more…]
