Anovos Productions LLC, best known as a high quality replica prop and costume company, has in recent days launched an official set of eBay auctions offering original props and costumes from the new SyFy pilot, Battlestar Galactica Blood & Chrome.  Anovos has announced that they will be offering 12 items per week for five consecutive weeks of auctions on eBay. Original 1960s George Barris Built/Designed Ford Futura Batman Batmobile TV Prop Fetches Record $4.62 Million at Barrett-Jackson Auction

The George Barris-designed prop batmobile from the 1960s Batman television series starring Adam West sold for $4.2 million ($4.62M with fees) to collector Rick Champagne at yesterday’s Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The one sold yesterday was the first of six made for the classic TV series. Honda Motorcycle Movie Prop Used in “James Bond: Skyfall” in Charity Auction

Honda UK has donated to charity auction the modified Honda CRF250R motorcycle used by Daniel Craig as James Bond in the newest film in the 007 franchise.  The motorcycle was used in the opening chase sequence in the movie, and proceeds well benefit BBC Children as part of a larger fundraising auction event on eBay. Christie’s “50 Years of James Bond” Auction Results; Upcoming Segment About Archives on 60 Minutes 10/14/12

Christie’s historic “50 Years of James Bond” auction pulled in a reported $2.6 million dollars for charity with their recent online/live hybrid auction announced last month.  Now, James Bond fans are in for a special treat with a 60 Minutes segment scheduled to air on CBS this weekend, which features a rare inside look at the Archives that holds much of the rare James Bond original props, costumes, and other assets made for and used in the films. Collector/Investor Files Fraud Lawsuit Against John LeBold and Americana Dance Theatre Over Elizabeth Taylor “Cleopatra” Dress and Other Hollywood Movie Costumes

Per Courthouse News Service, Richard Abrahamson (a former owner of Toon Art) has filed a lawsuit against John LeBold and Americana Dance Theatre, Inc. over the sale of a number of wardrobe pieces attributed to use in various Hollywood films.  The complaint was filed in the Hamilton County Courthouse in Cincinnati, Ohio last week, and “Abrahamson seeks $90,000 for breach of contract and fraud, and punitive damages“, per the CNS report.  One of the pieces purchased by Abrahamson (via Toon Art) from LeBold in 1999 was Elizabeth Taylor’s costume from Cleopatra (1963), which Abrahamson recently attempted to resell through Profiles in History.  The report claims, “[u]pon publication of the [auction] catalogue [sic], the owner of the authentic ‘Cleopatra’ dress contacted Profiles in History to notify them of the fraudulent representation in their catalog“.
