“Global Antiques” & “Auction Depot LA” Update: Victim Secures $18,000 Settlement & Deferred Judgment Following Lawsuit

One of the lead investigations conducted last year involved “original” memorabilia offered for sale with certificates of authenticity from “Global Antiques”, signed by Greg Jones.  Pieces were sold on eBay via  “Auction Depot LA” and “Auction Shop USA”.  These accounts were suspended by eBay, and one of the collectors who purchased a number of items from these companies/individuals filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court.  [Read more…]

Jim Hambrick’s “Americana Hollywood Museum”: First Party Damage Appraisal at $111,500

In January, WSIL-TV Channel 3 and KFVS Channel 12 each broadcast reports about Jim Hambrick’s “Americana Hollywood Museum” being flooded due to a broken pipe, with Mr. Hambrick estimating over $100,000 in damages.  Today, The Paducah Sun updates the story with Mr. Hambrick declaring $111,500.00 in memorabilia damage. Stage Manager Arrested, Charged With Stealing “Lipstick Jungle” Wardrobe/Props & Selling On eBay

The Associated Press and numerous mainstream media news outlets are reporting on the arrest of Arthur Moreira, following a sting operation in which he now stands accused of stealing $30,000 worth of assets (wardrobe and other accessories) from the set of Lipstick Jungle and selling them on eBay. Yesterday WSIL-TV Channel 3 in Southern Illinois broadcast a report about Jim Hambrick’s “Americana Hollywood Museum” being flooded over the weekend due to a broken pipe.  A second report broadcast by KFVS Channel 12 surfaced on the Internet today with similar coverage emphasizing Mr. Hambrick’s report of over $100,000 in damages.
