Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015: Photos of Movie Props, Costumes, and Models from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”

In terms of excitement generated from Star Wars Celebration 2015 in Anaheim, I would say the second development right behind the JJ Abrams/Kathleen Kennedy panel the opening morning and release of the new trailer for The Force Awakens is the exhibition of props, costumes, and models from the all-new film installment to the franchise.  On the upper floor of the Anaheim Convention Center is space dedication to the display of artifacts from the upcoming Episode VII, due in December 2015.  This feature includes about 130 quality photos from this exhibit. Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015: Exhibition Hall Photography

Following my pictorial preview of Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim for 2015 last night (Wednesday night, before officially starting), below are photos I took of the exhibit hall on the first full day (Thursday).  Being my first Celebration, it was bigger than I expected, but still not a massive as San Diego Comic Con (and thankfully, many of the aisles are much wider as well).  The calm before the storm was when the doors opened but the J.J. Abrams/Kathleen Kennedy panel was going.  For those who elected not to sleep overnight within the convention center to attend in person, the jumbo monitors at the LEGO booth streamed it all in real time, to the astonishment of fans who were thrilled by the premiere airing of the new “teaser” trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015 Preview: Photography from Wednesday Night

Star Wars Celebration officially kicks off tomorrow (running April 16th – 19th), but there is already a substantial massive line in the belly of the Anaheim Convention Center, filled with fans queued up for The Force Awakens panel featuring J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy.  As I walked in to check it out, dozens of pizzas were being hand-delivered to fans (courtesy J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy), starting with those at the front of the massive crowd.  It was announced today that 4-Day passes/badges have sold out, and when I picked up my media badge at around 5:00 this afternoon, they only had about 400 Saturday tickets left to sell at the door.  Below are some photos I took while walking around the convention center. San Diego Comic Con 2011: Event Recap, Impressions, Experiences

As has been tradition with coverage by the Original Prop Blog (2010, 2009, 2008), I thought I would share my overall impressions of Comic Con in San Diego this year.  As always, it was an incredible event, though if I came away with one overall thought, it would be looking to the future and how the convention will continue to evolve over the coming years.  More than ever, this year it seemed to come off the rails a bit more (in both good and bad ways) and the big question that remains outstanding is if San Diego can continue to both accommodate and manage the incredible attraction as it remains the “all things to all people” global pop culture celebration phenomenon. San Diego Comic Con 2011: Studio Art Technologies Offers Preview of Original Movie Props from ‘Men in Black 3’

Movie prop and costume designers/dealers eFx Collectibles, UD Replicas, Anovos, and Studio Art Technology shared space and brought a lot of great material to Comic Con this year showcasing their sci-fi franchise memorabilia.  In addition, they brought a number of original props from the upcoming Men in Black 3, not due to hit theaters until 2012. San Diego Comic Con 2011: Preview Night, Photos of Original TV & Movie Props and Costumes on Exhibit

Wednesday night was the special “preview night” for Comic Con 2011 in San Diego. To kick off annual coverage of original television and movie prop and costume related material from the biggest pop culture event of the year, as is tradition, the Original Prop Blog is publishing photos from the main exhibit hall of Comic Con of some of the related items on exhibit and display. This year includes pieces from Dark Knight, Watchmen, Superman Returns, Inception, The Hangover Part II, 300, The Three Musketeers, and Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance, and Men in Black 3.  In particular, Legendary Pictures has an extensive display of original movie props and costumes. San Diego Comic Con International 2011 Membership Passes/Tickets/Badges Redux – To Go On Sale Tomorrow

San Diego Comic Con International 2011 Membership Passes/Tickets Go On Sale November 1st

Membership passes for San Diego Comic Con International 2011 will go on sale at 9:00 am Pacific Time on November first.  Next year’s show will be held July 21-24.  For the past several years, tickets have sold out online far in advance of the show.  There is no on-site registration, and the passes including the special Wednesday “Preview Night” were sold out at this past year’s event, so none will be made available online this year.
