New Talk of a Hollywood History Museum Backed By AMPAS and LACMA – “The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures”

Last night the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art announced plans for a museum dedicated to the history of movies, tentatively called “The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures”, it is intended to take over the former May Company Department Store building near LACMA.  [Read more…]

Moody Anderson and Terry Boothe’s “Texas Traders” Historic Movie Prop Inventory/Warehouse Auction on October 22nd

Burley Auction Group is holding an auction on October 22nd in Round Mountain, Texas to liquidate inventory from Moody Anderson and Terry Boothe’s “Texas Traders” movie prop warehouse.  Auction partner AuctionZip boasts material from True Grit, Office Space, Dazed and Confused, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, other  films.  In fact, it is claimed that “Moody has supplied props to nearly every movie filmed in Texas over the past 30 years“, though real details about auction items and lots are sparse at this time.
