The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) issued their Annual Report a few months ago. Among the highlights is that auction fraud – a frequent topic in the hobby of collecting original television and movie props and wardrobe – was reported to make up one of four complaints made to the organization. One of my favorite programs on television is Pawn Stars, which airs on The History Channel.  Pawn Stars is a reality series about the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas run by “The Old Man”, his son Rick, and his grandson “Big Hoss”.   The series is akin to Antiques Roadshow in that customers bring in antiques, collectibles, and other items to sell, which includes authentication and appraisal by experts. PropWorx, best known for its liquidation of assets from Battlestar Galactica via two live auction events and thousands of eBay auctions, has launched a new website with details about one of its new licenses, Iron Man, on behalf of Marvel Studios.  In addition to photos and descriptions of some of the nicer items is a page to pre-order a limited edition auction catalog which appears to be impressive.
