The ‘Lord of the Rings in Concert’ tour launched last night in Glendale, Arizona with eight more dates in other cities through the rest of October. Lord of the Rings movie prop and costume collector Troika will be traveling with the symphony and putting some of his remarkable collection on display for concert attendees. I’ve offered to help in efforts to find original material (props, costumes, set pieces, other production assets) from the American sitcom “F Troop”, which originally aired in the U.S. from late 1965 through early 1967. There is hope that material can be found and loaned to be part of an upcoming museum exhibition which will run for approximately two years. [Read more…]

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences are holding a special exhibit called, “Crew Call 2011: Celebrating the Crafts”, which features in studio and on set photos taken by members of The Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers. 2011 marks Prop Store’s third year as an exhibitor at Comic Con in San Diego, and as has been the case in the past, they have brought an assortment of props and costumes from an assortment of film and television programs. As part of their t-shirt promotion this year, they have billed their experience “Comic Khan”, which is emblazoned across the shirts and the Khan costume from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is in the coveted display case spot at the corner of their exhibit.
