Superman, Batman, The Avengers Invade American Cities with On Location Filming (Plano, IL – Pittsburgh, PA – Cleveland, OH)

Over the past few months, the Internet has been buzzing about on location filming for some of the upcoming blockbuster superhero-genre movies (in 2012 and 2013), with on location filming in American cities.  As such, all manner of photos and videos have been shared online, offering glimpses into both “first look” images of costumes and sets, as well as a look into the film making process itself.  The second successive Superman reboot (now with Zack Snyder directing), Man of Steel, has been shooting in Plano, IL, the third of the Chris Nolan Batman films, The Dark Knight Rises, has been filming in Pittsburgh, PA, and Marvel Comics’ launch of The Avengers franchise team movie helmmed by Joss Whedon has set up location shooting in Cleveland, OH. San Diego Comic Con 2011: Preview Night, Photos of Original TV & Movie Props and Costumes on Exhibit

Wednesday night was the special “preview night” for Comic Con 2011 in San Diego. To kick off annual coverage of original television and movie prop and costume related material from the biggest pop culture event of the year, as is tradition, the Original Prop Blog is publishing photos from the main exhibit hall of Comic Con of some of the related items on exhibit and display. This year includes pieces from Dark Knight, Watchmen, Superman Returns, Inception, The Hangover Part II, 300, The Three Musketeers, and Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance, and Men in Black 3.  In particular, Legendary Pictures has an extensive display of original movie props and costumes.
