The auction catalog is now available online via a PDF download via their official website and collectors can bid on iCollector.  In chatting with Desi DosSantos about the sale, he said: “This auction has several items that have not been uncovered for a long time, in particular, Quint’s Machete and Hooper’s Dive Mask, both from Jaws. Editorial: December Entertainment Memorabilia Pop Culture Auction Review and “The Bubble”

Now that I am back in the States, I thought I would take the time to review the results of the overwhelming number entertainment memorabilia auctions that took place throughout the month of December.  Interestingly, while I personally met with a number of participants in our field while traveling in England and France this month, the one unsolicited and seemingly universal topic brought up by all was the question of “the Bubble”.  Is there a bubble?  If so, what are the contributing factors, and when and how will it burst?  And what would the consequences be on our art market?  Since the results of these high profile auctions speak to these notions and related speculation, I thought it would make sense to frame my results analysis in this discussion. The Profiles in History ‘Icons of Hollywood Auction’ catalog does away with the traditional “Hollywood Auction” numbering format (which ended with 44?), and is now available as a free PDF download on their official site, with hardcopies available for purchase as well. Julien’s Auctions ‘Icons and Idols’ (Hollywood & Marilyn Monroe, Sports & Rock ‘n Roll) Catalogs Online, Events to be Held in Beverly Hills December 1st-4th

Julien’s Auctions has today announced their next events, a pairing of two sales – “Hollywood & Marilyn Monroe” and “Sports & Rock ‘n Roll”, both under the “Icons and Idols” banner and each two-day sales, with the former scheduled for December 1st and 2nd and the latter for December 3rd and 4th.  Both live auction events will be at their Beverly Hills facility.
