Original Prop Blog in England: Journal Day Two

England Journal: Day Two.  This was a very busy day.  Mario, Oz and I took the train to Prop Store, which was a first visit for me.  While the weather was not terribly bad at our arrival, it soon began snowing and actually made a sharp turn for the worst.  We cut our visit short so as to not get trapped out at the store (admittedly not the worst place in the world to be stuck). And Now For Something Completely Different… The England Journal

This will be the first in a series of uncharacteristically informal and personal articles to close out 2010.  Apologies for the lack of new articles over the past week – I have been busy preparing for a trip to England, and am publishing this first article via layover at an airport, with flight departing to London.  I will be publishing (hopefully) frequent updates about my journey over the next week, in which I will be meeting up with some of my fellow prop collecting enthusiasts, visiting some prop-related attractions, and will be attending two charity concerts featuring performances by Coldplay, benefiting Crisis. ‘No Doubt’ eBay Charity Auction Features Memorabilia, Wardrobe, Instruments from Studio Recordings, Videos, Live Performances

As with Coldplay at the end of last year, rock band No Doubt has listed a number of costumes, instruments, and other original memorabilia up for auction to benefit charity, following their 2009 tour.  100% of the proceeds will benefit a number of charities selected by Gwen Stefani and the band members. Coldplay “End of Decade Clearout Sale” Memorabilia Auction Raises Over $400,000 for Charity; eBay Auction Results

As reported two weeks ago, Grammy Award-winning rock band Coldplay offered memorabilia for auction for their “End of Decade Clearout Sale”, with auctions having ended Monday through today, New Year’s Eve. Michael Jackson “King of Pop” Dead at 50

Per reports from the Los Angeles Times, TMZ.com, and the USA Today, Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today following a cardiac arrest and coma.  The “King of Pop” has been in the news in recent months as a result of his sold out come back concert tour and a dispute with Julian’s Auctions over the sale of personal memorabilia from Neverland Ranch.
