HBO Begins Series of Weekly Online Auctions of Original Memorabilia from “Entourage” as Cable TV Series Airs Final Season
HBO is holding an online auction at The HBO Shop for a small number of lots of original production material from their Entourage cable television series, which is currently airing its final season. This week marks the first of three weeks of auctions. Lots available for sale at auction include material related to the fictional movies depicted in the series, which has aired for eight seasons and features the popular cast of characters Vincent Chase, Eric Murphy, Johnny Drama, Turtle, and Ari Gold. Search for Original Vintage Television Material (TV Props, Costumes, Studio Assets) from ABC’s “F Troop” for Museum Exhibit
I’ve offered to help in efforts to find original material (props, costumes, set pieces, other production assets) from the American sitcom “F Troop”, which originally aired in the U.S. from late 1965 through early 1967. “Auction Hunters” Stars To Go “Deep Inside the Lucasfilm Archives” as Part of Spike TV’s Labor Day Star Wars Marathon
According to a press release published today, Spike TV will be broadcasting a Labor Day Marathon special that will include a tour of the Lucasfilm Archives, with a look at many of the original props and costumes from Star Wars on display at Skywalker Ranch. The Marathon will be hosted by Allen Haff and Ton Jones of “Auction Hunters” and will be part of their programming that will feature all six Star Wars films and a special preview of the upcoming “Complete Saga” on Blu-Ray. The release promises a “hands on” look at an original R2-D2, Leia’s slave costume from Return of the Jedi, a Darth Maul costume, and AT-AT model, and more. [Read more…]
Superman, Batman, The Avengers Invade American Cities with On Location Filming (Plano, IL – Pittsburgh, PA – Cleveland, OH)
Over the past few months, the Internet has been buzzing about on location filming for some of the upcoming blockbuster superhero-genre movies (in 2012 and 2013), with on location filming in American cities. As such, all manner of photos and videos have been shared online, offering glimpses into both “first look” images of costumes and sets, as well as a look into the film making process itself. The second successive Superman reboot (now with Zack Snyder directing), Man of Steel, has been shooting in Plano, IL, the third of the Chris Nolan Batman films, The Dark Knight Rises, has been filming in Pittsburgh, PA, and Marvel Comics’ launch of The Avengers franchise team movie helmmed by Joss Whedon has set up location shooting in Cleveland, OH. George R.R. Martin Reports Autographed “Game Of Thrones” Screenplays Donated for Charity Auction Stolen
Critically acclaimed science fiction, fantasy, and horror writer, George Raymond Richard Martin, has reported on his website that he believed two original and autographed screenplays from the HBO series, Game of Thrones, were stolen in transit. As the author of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of fantasy novels, upon which the Game of Thrones series were based, the production had sent the two shooting scripts (signed by writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and director Alan Taylor) to Mr. Martin to use to auction and raise money for charitable causes. When he received the parcel from the U.S. Postal Service, included was a pre-printed form letter apologizing for damage to the package and both scripts were missing. [Read more…]
