Charity Auction: Auction Cause Offers Original Props from “Survivor Philippines” on eBay

As is the case with each season, original props and artifacts from the latest seasons of Survivor, Survivor Philippines, are being offered at auction on eBay by Auction Cause, with proceeds benefiting a variety of charitable organizations.  The auction began Sunday night with the conclusion of this season of the show, which revealed Denise Stapely to be the winner of the $1 million dollar prize this time.  The auctions run through next Wednesday (apologies for the delay in running this – have been traveling and wanted to stay spoiler free until I caught up with the show tonight).

Gilt Groupe Offers Sale of Authentic Memorabilia from Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’; Proceeds Benefit the Orangutan Foundation International

The Gilt Group has again opened a unique sale of original props for charity, this time offering material from Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, which opens in theaters in the United States tomorrow.  Per the website retailer, “Lee is donating the proceeds from the props to Orangutan Foundation International (orangutan.org), after having an inspiring experience when he visited the facility while doing research for the movie”.  Of the pieces offered is the lifeboat which represents an important part of the film. “Sound Off For Autism Speaks” Offers Custom Celebrity Voice Message Recordings for Charity

Sound Off For Autism Speaks is a new campaign launching December 3rd in which a limited number of celebrity voice recordings will be sold to benefit the charitable organization, Autism Speaks.  Fans who buy one of the 50 messages made available per celebrity, for a $299 donation, will be able to provide the celebrity with their own custom message to record.  Celebrities include William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Ed Asner, Betty White, and Derek Jeter. Honda Motorcycle Movie Prop Used in “James Bond: Skyfall” in Charity Auction

Honda UK has donated to charity auction the modified Honda CRF250R motorcycle used by Daniel Craig as James Bond in the newest film in the 007 franchise.  The motorcycle was used in the opening chase sequence in the movie, and proceeds well benefit BBC Children as part of a larger fundraising auction event on eBay. Christie’s “50 Years of James Bond” Auction Results; Upcoming Segment About Archives on 60 Minutes 10/14/12

Christie’s historic “50 Years of James Bond” auction pulled in a reported $2.6 million dollars for charity with their recent online/live hybrid auction announced last month.  Now, James Bond fans are in for a special treat with a 60 Minutes segment scheduled to air on CBS this weekend, which features a rare inside look at the Archives that holds much of the rare James Bond original props, costumes, and other assets made for and used in the films. Set of Two Clapperboards Signed By ‘The Hobbit’ Cast/Crew, Peter Jackson, At Rubber Monkey Charity Auction

New Zealand-based production company and audio visual retailer Rubber Monkey is holding a charity auction for a set of two clapperboards autographed by some of the cast and crew of The Hobbit, with proceeds benefiting several charities, Ronald McDonald House, Wellington SPCA, and Wellington Hospitals and Health Foundation (SAFE and NICU).  The auction at Trade Me runs through September 10th.
