IfOnly & Lucasfilm Auction Off Screen-Used Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmets for Charity

IfOnly, the “marketplace for incredible experiences… that benefit worthy causes around the world” has put up quite an interesting set of auctions for fans of the newest Star Wars trilogy put out by Disney.  It’s very rare for any “screen-used” helmets from any Star Wars film to be released officially via LucasFilm, and this month with IfOnly there is not just one but two “screen-used First Order stormtrooper helmets from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi”.  Also up for sale is a Porg “limited-edition creature artist’s maquette”.  Proceeds from these auctions ending on February 22nd benefit Tipping Point’s Emergency Relief Fund.  Note that the terms explain that these pieces of memorabilia can never be resold by the winning bidders. The Smithsonian Institution Launch Kickstarter Campaign to Raise $300,000 to Preserve Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers from Wizard of Oz

The Smithsonian Institution launched a new Kickstarter campaign yesterday in an effort to raise $300,000 for their preservation efforts with the Dorothy ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz that is in their collection.  After just one day, they’ve already raised over one third of their stated goal. News broke across the mainstream press today following a report by the Albuquerque Journal that original memorabilia, costumes, props, set pieces, and other assets from the production of Breaking Bad will be sold at auction by Goodwill Industries of New Mexico.  With just a handful of episodes left in this final season of the popular Emmy Award-winning AMC show, the production has donated a trailer of material that was used on the show telling the story of Walter White, as portrayed by Bryan Cranston, as a high school chemistry teacher turned crime figure. Charity Auction: Auction Cause Offers Original Props from “Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites” on eBay

As per tradition at the close of each season, original props and artifacts from the long running reality television series, Survivor, are being offered at auction on eBay by Auction Cause, with proceeds benefiting charitable organizations. The auction began with last night’s conclusion of this season – Caramoan: Fans vs Favorites – which revealed John Cochran to be the winner of the $1 million dollar prize. The auctions run through May 22nd and 100% of the proceeds will be split evenly between The Alliance for Children’s Rights and Survivor Stand Up To Cancer.
