Questions About Superman Costumes in the Marketplace: Update 3

February 2, 2008 By Jason DeBord

One of the Superman costume eBay listings remarked on previously, that went unsold, has been relisted with some changes to the marketing description. This auction and Superman costumes in general have been topics of discussion in prior articles (see “Questions About Superman Costumes in the Marketplace: Authenticity, Sources, Quantity“, “Update“, “Update 2“).

“Costume Junkie” (eBay Link, CostumeJunkie.com Link) is the eBay seller for this relisted auction (eBay Item #140199822634):

Christopher Reeves SUPERMAN authentic costume with COA (eBay Item #140204133255)

In addition to the change from an attribution from “Superman III” to “Superman”, and different bidding structure (from a starting bid of $3,000.00 and Buy It Now of $5,499.99 to a starting bid of $2,999.99 and Buy It Now of $3,499.99), the following information is new to this listing, compared with the original listing that ended with no bids on 01/20/08:

The costume will come with a COA from Superhollywood (Super38 on Ebay with GREAT feedback on previous Superman related screen used items).

Also, we were wrong about the tag saying Superman III. Just Superman.

The boots are replicas we had made at an expense of $400.00.

The belt and buckle are also replicas.

The COA is from Anna Mungia (Creative Costume Design)

The COA has the B&N tag number on it as well.

This was purchased from Super Hollywood and their reputation is without question.

There ARE rumors going around started by someone connected with the franchise, they’re false and we’ve received at least 10 emails about it.

We’re selling the costume with as much history on the piece as we know from Super38

Feel free to check their feedback and previous auctions.

Jason De Bord
