New online auctioneer Mercer Auction are holding their first annual “Stars of Hollywood Annual Prop & Art Auction” as an online auction on both iCollector and LiveAuctioneers. The sale includes 180 lots, though not all of it is within the Hollywood memorabilia category.

I did have an opportunity to exchange some messages with Brian Mercer to learn a little more about their objectives in this art market, and this was their response:
Mercer Auctions is a new premiere Auction House based in Beverly Hills, CA who specializes in Entertainment and Sports Memorabilia.
Mercer Auctions will be hosting the first annual “Stars of Hollywood Annual Prop & Art Auction” on March 30th 2013 @ 1 PM PST. This annual prop, costume, art, and memorabilia auction will be live and online from Beverly Hills, CA. The auction features rare and coveted props from films from recent and the far history of Hollywood. This year the auction will also include art previously owned by some of the world’s greatest stars.
The team behind Mercer Auctions has been in the entertainment industry for a combined total of over 30 years with previous backgrounds as Producers, Directors, and Writers. Mercer Auctions will be hosting multiple auctions this year, and will be consigning and building the Hollywood Stars of Summer after the close of this auction. Stay tuned.
