The online catalog for the Premiere Props “Fangoria Horror Movie Prop Live Auction”, scheduled for October 13, is listed via online bidding partners iCollector and LiveAuctioneers. The auction is marketed as including over 1,000 lots from various film and television productions, though currently the catalog shows less than half that amount (479 lots). Julien’s Auctions has published the online catalog for their upcoming sale – “Icons and Idols Hollywood” auction, which will be held at their Beverly Hills gallery on November 9th and 10th.
I had a chance yesterday to view the movie props and costumes on display at the Planet Hollywood restaurant and gift shop found at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. While all are attributed to use in various productions, no provenance, history, or explanations are provided. Definitely an interesting subject for further discussion. [Read more…]

Julien’s Auctions has published the online catalog for their upcoming sale – “Property from the Estate of Greta Garbo”, which will be held at their Beverly Hills gallery on Friday, December 14th and Saturday, December 15th.
Per Courthouse News Service, Richard Abrahamson (a former owner of Toon Art) has filed a lawsuit against John LeBold and Americana Dance Theatre, Inc. over the sale of a number of wardrobe pieces attributed to use in various Hollywood films. The complaint was filed in the Hamilton County Courthouse in Cincinnati, Ohio last week, and “Abrahamson seeks $90,000 for breach of contract and fraud, and punitive damages“, per the CNS report. One of the pieces purchased by Abrahamson (via Toon Art) from LeBold in 1999 was Elizabeth Taylor’s costume from Cleopatra (1963), which Abrahamson recently attempted to resell through Profiles in History. The report claims, “[u]pon publication of the [auction] catalogue [sic], the owner of the authentic ‘Cleopatra’ dress contacted Profiles in History to notify them of the fraudulent representation in their catalog“.
