Bonhams June 2009 “Entertainment Memorabilia” Auction in Knightsbridge Catalog Available Online

Bonhams second of two Entertainment Memorabilia auctions next month will be held in Knightsbridge, UK on June 16, 2009.

The sale includes hundreds of wardrobe pieces from Angels The Costumiers, from productions spanning many decades.

Of note, there are a number of pieces from James Bond films such as The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Octopussy, Moonraker, The Living Daylights, Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough.

Also represented are wardrobe pieces from popular films such as The Princess Bride, Star Wars: A New Hope, Batman, Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade, Superman, Titanic, The Hunger, The Fifth Element, Lawrence of Arabia, Chaplin, Braveheart, and more.

Of particular note is Lot No: 251 – cape attributed to use by Christopher Lee in Dracula (1958):

A black opera style cape, of wool, being full length, with collar, with silk effect rope tie to neck, together with a letter signed by Christopher Lee, on Angels headed note paper, dated 15 May 2007, stating “To Whom It May Concern, This is to certify that the black cape presented with this letter is an original from the Hammer film Dracula – 1958. Christopher Lee”, and a still image of Lee wearing the cape as Dracula

Estimate: £20,000 – 30,000

This sale includes 606 lots covering a number of contemporary as well as vintage/classic props and wardrobe, posters/one sheets/memorabilia, and music memorabilia.
