eBay’s “puttieface”/”votehillary” – “spadorcia”/”hoist73”

August 10, 2008 By Jason DeBord

Mario Saricca, originally selling on eBay as “puttieface” (see eBay’s puttieface & Entertainment Movie Props), who later changed his eBay account name to “votehillary” (see …”votehillary” Update), only to have been removed from eBay less than two weeks ago (see eBay’s “puttieface”, “votehillary” No Longer a Registered User), appears to be trading under an alternate eBay account, “spadorcia”, which today was changed to “hoist73”.  Also of note, the EntertainmentMovieProps.com web store has been down since March (as reported in the story Reader Comment: “The Bride’s Hero Sword from Kill Bill”, Entertainment Movie Props).

While Mr. Saricca’s “puttieface/votehillary” account was converted to “No longer a registered user/Not a registered used” (or “NARU“) status by eBay – prohibiting his participation in selling and/or buying in the marketplace – an account long associated with Mr. Saricca has subsequently become active in offering props and wardrobe for sale on eBay.

The account, “spadorcia”, was today renamed “hoist73”:

The following information connects the “spadorcia/hoist73” account to the “puttieface/votehillary” account and Mr. Saricca.

August 2001

Both eBay accounts were created within three days of one another, more than seven years ago:

Massachusetts

Both “puttieface/votehillary” and “spadorcia/hoist73” list their item locations as Massachusetts – though for “spadorcia/hoist73”, only those auctions that predated the “puttieface/votehillary” eBay account suspension, such as this listing (one of four of this type) offering a Boston Red Sox poster back in May 2008, with an Item Location of “Quincy, Massachusetts”:

The current “spadorcia/hoist73” auctions list an item location of “Auctionville, United States”.  Though the “puttieface/votehillary” listings noted an item location of “LARGEST PROP AUCITON !!!, United States”, the Entertainment Movie Props website listed a P.O. Box in Foxboro, Massachusetts:

Aeon Flux eBay Auction

One of the items listed a number of times on eBay using the “puttieface/votehillary” account was a sniper rifle from Aeon Flux.  This item, described in the current “spadorcia/hoist73” auction listing as “the only 100 pct complete sniper rifle that remains from this film”, employs photos that are from the same photo session as the one used in the “puttieface/votehillary” eBay listings last month.

Below is the current “spadorcia/hoist73” eBay listing:

“spadorcia/hoist73” Marketing Description:

This sniper rifle was screen used in the sci-fi film
Aeon Flux, It is also the only 100 pct complete sniper rifle
that remains from this film. I was told by Premiere props this also is the only sniper rifle with a removable clip that has one of the plastic bullets!!! It also comes out of the clip as well.
Prop is made of hard heavy resin-metal -plastics . The scope is a working Walther 4×32 model Military Pro. The trigger does work as does the bolt action. The sniper rifle has a real special forces sling so it can be carried snug to the body. Prop is whats called as a hero model used in all the close up shots in the film. Im also tossing in some custom wall mounts that show the prop off nice. The Certificate is from premiere props The shipping charges are exact and are what it cost me when I had it shipped to me. Ebay this is a prop weapon slash toy I added the orange plug to the barrel it cannot not be made to fire any bullets fake or live . Remember this is the only hero rifle intact from the film!!!!

Observations:

  • “spadorcia/hoist73” claims it is the only one of its kind
  • “spadorcia/hoist73” recounts his communications with Premiere Props, implying such information was obtained at the time of the original sale and that he was the original buyer
  • “spadorcia/hoist73” notes the shipping charges are “what it cost me when I had it shipped to me”, again implying he was the original purchaser direct from Premiere Props
  • “spadorcia/hoist73” claims he himself added the orange plug to the barrel – and this orange plug is present in the “puttieface/votehillary” photos

Below is a photo comparison:

It was originally listed on eBay by “puttieface/votehillary” without the orange plugs, then pulled by eBay on July 15th as a violation of their firearms policy (see Firearms, Weapons, and Knives), then relisted with the photo above including the orange plug.

Props, Wardrobe, Jewelry, Glassware, XBOX 360 Games

Also, the other recent and current listings on eBay offered by “spadorcia/hoist73” are consistent with the items offered for sale by “puttieface/votehillary” in the past, including off the shelf items like jewelry, watches, and glassware attributed to use in film and television, as well as props and wardrobe pieces attributed to many of the same movies and television programs (such as stakes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Both have also sold XBOX 360 games.

Below is an example of an item listed on eBay by “puttieface/votehillary” that is consistent with one now listed on eBay by “spadorcia/hoist73”:

“puttieface/votehillary” eBay listing – “FRIENDS JENNIFER ANISTON SCREEN WORN EARRINGS RARE COA”:

“puttieface”/”votehillary” – “spadorcia”/”hoist73” Mutual eBay Feedback

Both “puttieface/votehillary” and “spadorcia/hoist73” accounts have left mutual transactional feedback for one another (see “spadorcia/hoist73” eBay feedback).

Mario Saricca, puttieface, SPADORCIA, & Die Hard

Another important note, and as mentioned in the original “puttieface” OPB article, Mr. Saricca left many harassing comments for Simon Lee on his DieHardProps.com website, and some of those were under the registered username “SPADORCIA”.

As an example, I have records of the following “Guest Book” messages left for Simon after Mr. Saricca outbid him on a Die Hard III gold bar prop with his “puttieface” eBay account on September 25, 2007:

SPADORCIA: AFTER ALL THE CRAP YOU PULLED ON ME THAT WAS SO SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!! IT WILL LOOK NICE WITH THE COSTUME!!!!! WHAT A FIND!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME TO THE PARTY SIMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!

SPADORCIA: WHAT A STORY BEHIND IT WOW!!! ONE OF A KIND !!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT YOU DID TO ME CAME BACK TO YOU !!!!!! I WISH YOU ALL THE BAD LUCK IN THE WORLD MATE!!!! WHAT A SET!!!!!! CANT WAIT TILL YOUR HISTORY

SPADORCIA: YtongueESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS WOW I DID IT MOM TOP OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!

If you read the first “movie webster” Reader Comment to that original article (LINK), you will read he (“Paul”/”Mario”) himself even references “puttieface” buying the Die Hard prop related to the above “SPADORCIA” comments left on the Die Hard Props guestbook:

this seemed to also pick up speed when simon was outbid on a gold bar signed by bruce willis by puttieface and put on our site.

Below is a photo from the last “puttieface/votehillary” eBay auction for this item last month (eBay Item #350079931712):

“Paul/Mario” also references the Star Wares costume in both the “SPADORCIA” guestbook comments as well as the Original Prop Blog reader comment by “movie webster”.

YourProps

I have also confirmed that “spadorcia” was banned from YourProps.com as a sockpuppet account for Mr. Saricca/”puttieface”, along with countless others.

eBay Feedback

In the event “spadorcia/hoist73” converts his eBay feedback to private, here is an archive as of the date of this article:

I will continue to monitor this account and report on any further developments.
