This Auction is for an Original US GI- issue M1 Steel helmet. This is an original shell that has been painted with the correct flat o.d. paint used in WWII. Complete restoration includes the 2nd Ranger Division insignia, which has been hand painted on this helmet. These helmets have heat index numbers stamped in the brim. This helmet is made to look just like the helmets used in Saving Private Ryan, The Longest Day, and The Big Red One. This helmet does not come with a liner, the liner is just for the pictures. It’s the 2nd Ranger helmet shell only.
This Helmet would be a great addition to your collection, great wearable item(with a liner) for re-enactors , paintball enthuisiasts or just a cool looking WWII display helmet. Please keep in mind, this is an original helmet, and as such it will have some imperfections. Any major dents or damage is disclosed in the text or pictures above.

Used on the movie set it is well worn, dirty, comes with a great Certificate suitable for framing, this is very well worn, possibly WW2 late 1944-45 era as I have some original pieces in my collection is has the same dye color as those years, the US marking is worn and faded.The inside is foam with a black type cap assembly with a rawhide tie on the back, my thinking is no metal to fall on and get hurt. This is a rare collectable perfect for any serious collector, obtained at an estate sale in Dekalb IL. it was one of many that I have a couple of, according to the widow her husband was a member of the 101st Airborne during WW2 and obtained this shortly after coming back to the states, it is in good condition for it’s age, it was traded for following the surrender of a German POW, it is in good condition for the age, some staining, and fading.

This was recently aquired approx. 1 year ago from a collector in IL. It was part of his vast collection of military items, this was used during the filming of Patton the blockbuster movie starring George C. Scott, it was used in the beginning scenes where Patton is commanding the US Forces for the first time. This helmet I believe original, it has been painted camo, with decals applied, along with an original wire net and German Original eye wear and case. There is NO liner, he had a few of these and none had liners, it does show scratches consistent with movie use and comes with a nice frameable Certificate Of Authenticity.
I will ship overseas on this item.
