Description:

Item Description: In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the creation of Superman, and more importantly to me the 30th anniversary of the 1978 premiere of Superman the movie, this is a pair of briefs worn by the late great Christopher Reeve in his role as Superman in the 1978 feature film, Superman – the movie. The briefs are in excellent condition and are extremely rare as the briefs are very rarely seen unattached from the main tunic.

The briefs were obtained by the costume supervisor for Superman III, and in addition were sent to Stephen Lane (founder of the Propstore of London) for further authentication http://www.propstore.com/COA.htm . Stephen currently has a complete Superman costume on display in the movieum of London http://www.propstore.com/supermancostume.htm and has matched these briefs with the briefs he currently has that originated from the Warner Bros. Archives, all of which is detailed in a letter of authenticity from him on official Propstore of London paperwork with affixed Propstore of London tamper proof secure hologram. The photo of the costumer labels production number and certain details in the letter of authenticity have been obscured to retain exclusivity of this knowledge to the new owner. The briefs, considering their rarity and the unique fabric used to make them, have been valued at far more than my starting price or buy it now price. If you’ve ever wanted to hold in your hands an authentic piece of Superman’s costume from the very first Superman film, don’t hesitate to add this to your collection. Christopher Reeve is my hero, and I’m sure he is the hero of many others whom along with myself consider him to be the quintessential man of steel both in film and in real life.
