Review: “Hollywood Treasure” TV Series on SyFy (Episodes 101 & 102)

Tonight was the official broadcast premiere of the first two episodes of the new SyFy cable television series “Hollywood Treasure”, featuring Joe Maddalena, Brian Chanes, and the staff of Profiles in History. The reality-based series follows Joe and his efforts to secure important Hollywood memorabilia for his live auction sale events. This will begin a series of regular reviews of each episode, beginning with #101 and #102, following last week’s editorial and preview. Read more

1965 Aston Martin DB5 “The James Bond Car” Used in Goldfinger and Thunderball Sells for $4.6 Million Dollars

As reported back in June, RM Auctions (in association with Sotheby’s) offered at auction “The James Bond Car” – a 1965 Aston Martin featured in the James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball, starring Sean Connery. As part of their “Automobiles of London” sale event, the auction took place today and the car sold for a staggering $4.6 million dollars. Read more

ScreenUsed Announces Acquisition and Restoration of Original Movie Prop DeLorean from ‘Back to the Future’

Desi DosSantos and Jeff Castillo of ScreenUsed have recently shared with me their efforts in restoring one of the few surviving DeLoreans customized and used in filming the Back to the Future trilogy. Today, they are publicly announcing the completion of their work, all in time for the 25th Anniversary of the original film. San Diego Comic Con International 2011 Membership Passes/Tickets Go On Sale November 1st

Membership passes for San Diego Comic Con International 2011 will go on sale at 9:00 am Pacific Time on November first. Next year’s show will be held July 21-24. For the past several years, tickets have sold out online far in advance of the show. There is no on-site registration, and the passes including the special Wednesday “Preview Night” were sold out at this past year’s event, so none will be made available online this year.
