The Golden Closet Offers Original Blank Fire & Non-Firing Pistols Used by Angelina Jolie in “Salt”

The Golden Closet has yesterday announced the sale of original prop blank fire and non-firing weapons used in Salt, starring Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt. In addition to Certificate of Authenticity from The Golden Closet are copies of the original rental agreements from the armorer who worked on the production and call sheets from related scenes. While at the Profiles in History exhibit at San Diego Comic Con today, I had an opportunity to watch the crew of the “Hollywood Treasure” (previously “Hunting Hollywood”) program (announced last month, to be aired on the SyFy Channel) shoot some footage for the upcoming reality series featuring Joe Maddalena in his search of rare memorabilia. LOST Auction Catalog Available as Download at Profiles in History Website

Profiles in History has released the catalog of the LOST live auction scheduled for August 21-22 at Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport. The catalog preview available online at www.ProfilesInHistory.com is broken into six parts, one for each season, showcasing the original props, costumes, and other assets from ABC Studios television series LOST which concluded earlier this year.

Prop Store Brings Style & Substance to San Diego Comic Con with Array of Original TV and Movie Props and Costumes

The newly rebranded Prop Store are making their third consecutive San Diego Comic Con appearance this year. Their exhibit and original props and costumes are displayed in increasingly impressive fashion, and attract a constant flow of attendees as well as media coverage. Video interviews and discussions of the pieces and news will follow in a few days, including a close look at a fantastic new glossy brochure with information about the company, what they do, and highlights of some of the pieces from the store and within the collection. Below is still photography of the pieces on display. Prop Store will also be an exhibitor at next month’s Star Wars Celebration in Florida.

eBay Shill Bidder Ordered By Judge To Pay £5,000

As reported back in April (see New eBay Legal Development in the UK – Seller to be Fined up to £50,000 for Shill Bidding), an eBay seller in the UK, Paul Barrett, plead guilty to shill bidding his own auctions. Yesterday, the judge in the case ordered Barrett to pay £5,000 in fines and court costs and to do 250 hours of community service. Read more

The London Film Museum (formerly the Movieum) hosted a special 90th birthday celebration for Ray Harryhausen last week, with guests including Peter Jackson, Rick Baker, John Landis, Terry Gilliam, and Mr. Harryhausen himself. This occasion also marked the opening of a special exhibition about the life’s work of Mr. Harryhausen – “Myths and Legends” includes the display of original “Dynamation” creatures from the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation.
