The Philip Weiss website has been advertising a “Special Superhero Weekend” auction event for about a month, with highlights noted as “The Dane Nash Collection” of Superman costumes “originally purchased from Jim Hambrick”.  Per the website, this auction event has been canceled, with no further details or explanation. Les Hemstock “Movie Used” Harry Potter Envelope, Warner Bros. COA

Les Hemstock sold on eBay yesterday via a “Buy It Now Auction” using his kcotsmeh account a “MOVIE USED” Hogwarts envelope from one of the Harry Potter films, along with a unique “WARNER BROTHERS CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY”.  Neither the prop nor the provenance appear to match other examples found in the marketplace. Coraline Box With “Handcrafted Collectible Relics” Charity Auction

The creators of Coraline, set to open in theaters Friday, have produced 50 handmade boxes with different pieces representing the movie, and sent most of them to bloggers in an effort to help promote the film. One of these boxes is currently listed on eBay, with 100% of the proceeds going to the charitable cause, Starlight Children’s Foundation.  Other memorabilia is also available for auction, benefiting the same charity.
