Premier Collectible Auctions – Catalog Out, Online Bidding Live

As reported in early April (see “Premier Collectible Auctions“), a new auction service has launched, with the first live auction event being held in San Diego in conjunction with the San Diego Comic Con, July 24-26, 2008. While primarily a vintage toy auction (Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, etc.), there are some original props and memorabilia included in the auction, as noted in the last article. Brian’s Toys and Collectible Investment Brokerage/Cloud City Collectibles is behind this new venture.
The PremierCollect.com website has changed significantly since the original report, and now allows for bidding participation online, via their own hosted service:
There are currently 37 items listed in the “Movie Props, Cast, & Crew” category, though not much notable beyond what is in the printed catalog (which I received about a week ago, and mirrors the online PDF). One higher end addition are Greedo’s hands from Star Wars: A New Hope. Many of the new additions are Prop Store of London consignments.
While the service is a proponent of quality grading on the toys, there is no information as to the provenance of the original props and wardrobe offered for sale.
While obviously not direct competition for Profiles in History, the auction is being held a few days before the July 31-August 1 Profiles event.
